Watches

I see her watch. I look back at the one resting heavily on my wrist. Hers had the sophistication I was looking for when I went shopping for a new watch. Hers had thin criscrossing metal straps with a nicely sized rectangular face. Mine had slightly chunkier solid metal straps with a beautiful round face (I bought it mainly because of the face of the watch), but it just couldn’t quite match up to hers. I breathe a deep sigh and try to forget I had laid eyes upon her watch, but I ended up thinking, “Well, mine isn’t too bad. It’s good enough.”

I hope those aren’t the words that pop into my mind when I look back on my life as I die.

I picked it up on impulse. I happened to be in the bookshop shopping for some pens and I was desperate for a new book to read. Plus, it’s “NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE” starring Cameron Diaz so I decided it couldn’t be too bad. I thought at the least it would probably get me through the gaps of waiting time while I was doing research.

It’s been a long time since I’ve teared up reading a book. Never would I have thought this book could do this to me. Wow. Just wow.

Typhoons always make such beautiful skies before they arrive. Beautiful killer.
I saw a rainbow peeking out of the clouds today. It’s been too long since I’ve seen one.
